The principals at K2 bring a combined 70 years of development and construction experience to our multi-use, multi-family, and mixed- income development. Our experienced team is passionate about rehabilitating and transforming communities through development opportunities and is equipped to manage a high volume of projects simultaneously.
Allen A. Knott is the Chief Executive Officer of K2 Development Companies and is responsible for driving its strategic growth and development. Allen is adept at identifying market opportunities of all types and has developed a passion for building progress within the communities K2 serves. Allen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in project development and finance strategies to K2, having begun his career at Principal Financial Group where he successfully managed over $1.2 billion in corporate retirement funds. In 2003, Allen founded K2 Development Companies, which has since grown into successful real estate development business with a reputation of leadership in the development community in Redding, CA and beyond. Allen earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, holds a general contractors license, and plays a role in various philanthropic and community-oriented organizations and programs throughout the region.
Daniel Knott is the Executive Officer of K2 Development Companies where he is the lead for project financial analysis, project management, and community outreach. Since joining the company in 2006, Daniel has played a key role in the successful completion of over $400MM of real estate development projects in the single family, multi-family, and mixed-use sectors. In addition to his work at K2, Daniel also founded, grew, and eventually sold a successful property management company with over $60MM in real property assets under management. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and is an active member of the community, serving as a board member of the Greater Redding Chamber of Commerce and as a Redding East Rotarian, among other organizations. Daniel is dedicated to supporting the growth and development of the communities in which K2 operates, and is committed to making a positive impact through his work.
Rocky Slaughter serves as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel to K2 Development Companies. In addition to overseeing the operations of the company, Rocky specializes in the nuances of construction insurance, site safety, risk management and mitigation, and works to ensure K2 is protected from potential liabilities and losses. Rocky has a diverse background in business, marketing, political consulting, the wine industry, and is an attorney at law in the State of California. Prior to contracting with K2 Development Companies, Rocky operated a public relations and web technology company serving over 50 clients in the North State over the course of seven years. Rocky graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Northeastern University and a Juris Doctorate with Distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
Dominic De Lello is the Senior Asset Manager at K2 Development Companies, where he oversees the company’s real property portfolio. With nearly 10 years of experience in local government, and with a master’s degree in Public Administration, Dominic ensures that current and future assets comply with various lender, investor, and regulatory body requirements. Dominic’s passion is community development with a focus on supporting the community’s effort to produce more permanent supportive housing to help individuals experiencing homelessness or those that are at-risk of homelessness. Dominic is also instrumental in the predevelopment phase of K2’s projects as he competitively procures federal, state, and local funding to ensure projects are feasible and sustainable for generations to come.
Kathy Stratton is the Office and Accounting Manager, where she brings over 20 years of management experience and 15 years of accounting and bookkeeping expertise to the team. With a background in medical office management, Kathy is skilled in overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the office, including maintaining financial and insurance documents, payroll, and employee benefits. Kathy is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and reports, and coordinates with the team to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. In addition to her professional duties, Kathy is passionate about animal welfare and actively works to support TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) efforts for cat populations, as well as fostering homeless cats and dogs. As Office and Accounting Manager, Kathy plays a crucial role in ensuring that the company’s administrative functions run smoothly and efficiently.
Jessica Toombs is the Accounts Coordinator at K2 Development Companies and manages all aspects of project finance, budgeting, accounts payable and accounts receivable as well as pay apps and other funding requests. Jessica works closely with lender and equity partners to ensure that project draws are completed in a timely manner, helping to keep projects on track. With a strong background in finance, and a bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Finance from Chico State University, Jessica brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role at K2. She is highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to multitask and prioritize her workload. Outside of K2, Jessica is an avid athlete who engages in several athletic endeavors and coaches in the U-16 volleyball program at a local high school. Jessica’s passion for teamwork, discipline, and strategy make her a valuable asset and her dedication to ensuring the smooth financial operation of projects is instrumental in the company’s success.
Erin Ross is the Communications & Asset Ambassador at K2 Development Companies. In addition to overseeing company and project marketing, Erin provides public relations for the company and serves as a support and liaison for the commercial tenants of mixed-use projects throughout the pre-development and development process. Erin specializes in project managing the build, opening, and ongoing management of the new Redding Public Market at Market Center. Erin has a background in business marketing and administration and held a role at the Redding Chamber of Commerce for five years prior to joining the team at K2 Development Companies. In addition to her role at K2 she is still active with the Redding Chamber, plays an active role in the local entrepreneurial and start-up community, and serves on the Catalyst Mentoring Board of Directors.
Phil Quintana is the Senior Construction Manager at K2 Development Companies, where he oversees all vertical construction activities. Phil has extensive experience in construction management, having worked on a variety of projects including multi-family, school, retail, restaurant, and structural retrofit projects across the State of California. Phil is well-versed in all aspects of successful field work including safety, schedule, quality, and budgeting. In his role, he manages general contractors, architects, and consultants, creates project budgets, and tracks schedules to ensure projects stay on track. Phil’s constructability and schedule reviews are key in preventing cost and schedule overruns.
Ron DeMaagd is the Construction Manager at K2 Development Companies, where he focuses on site development and infrastructure. Ron has over 30 years of experience in surveying, design, construction, and project management. Ron has a diverse background in site development, road, utility, drainage, bridge, and mechanical projects. Prior to joining K2, Ron worked with the Bureau of Land Management, Tehama County, Cal Trans, and served as Construction Manager for the City of Redding, overseeing the delivery of capital and private development projects totaling over $70MM per year. Ron attended the Civil Engineering program at CSU Chico and also holds a Land Surveyor in Training license.
Raul Nuñez, Jr. is the Project Engineer at K2 Development Companies and joined the team in 2022. With a background in various trades, including framing, plumbing, and electrical work, Raul has extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the construction and agricultural industries. Raul has overseen the development of a range of projects, including retail, residential, restaurant, and commercial office projects at various stages of development from core and shell completion to finishing tenant improvements. During a summer internship at KPRS, a general contractor in Los Angeles, Raul supervised three smaller projects at Amazon Studios in Culver City, CA and helped to close out several projects by coordinating directly with the authority having jurisdiction to achieve a certificate of occupancy. More recently, Raul has developed a passion for the strategic urbanization of his hometown region of Redding, California. Raul works hand-in-hand with Ron and Phil to ensure continuity between site development and structures.
